The full name of RFID is Radio Frequency Identification, also known as electronic tag, wireless radio frequency identification, inductive electronic chip, proximity card, induction card, contactless card, electronic barcode.

RFID radio frequency identification is a contactless automatic identification technology that automatically identifies the target object and obtains relevant data through radio frequency signals. The identification work does not require human intervention and can work in various harsh environments.

RFID technology can identify high-speed moving objects and can identify multiple tags at the same time, and the operation is quick and convenient. Short-range radio frequency products are not afraid of harsh environments such as oil stains and dust pollution. They can replace barcodes in such environments, such as tracking objects on factory assembly lines. Long-range radio frequency products are mostly used in transportation, and the identification distance can reach tens of meters, such as automatic toll collection or vehicle identity identification.

FID system architecture

RFID system is mainly composed of four parts: reader, electronic tag, RFID middleware and application system software. Generally, we refer to middleware and application software as application system.

Electronic tag (Tag): It consists of a built-in antenna and chip. Each tag has a unique electronic code. Whether it is a high-frequency electronic tag or an ultra-high-frequency electronic tag, it can play the role of identification, item tracking and information collection. The operating frequency of ultra-high-frequency electronic tags is between 860MHz and 960MHz. It has strong security performance, strong confidentiality and strong penetration performance. The typical operating frequency of high-frequency electronic tags is 13.56MHz. It has strong ability to penetrate non-metallic objects and is not affected by radio frequency interference.

Reader: A device that reads/writes tag information. It can be designed as a handheld or fixed type, emitting radio waves of a specific frequency to make the tags within the sensing range respond.

Fixed RFID Readers.webp

Antenna: Transmits radio frequency signals between tags and readers.

Classic application

Scenario Warehouse management

The introduction of RFID technology in warehouse management can automatically collect data from various operation links such as warehouse arrival inspection, warehousing, outbound, transfer, transfer, inventory counting, etc., to ensure the speed and accuracy of data input in each link of warehouse management, ensure that enterprises can grasp the real data of inventory in a timely and accurate manner, and reasonably maintain and control enterprise inventory.

Welding workshop

(1) The body welding workshop has a poor environment, with a large amount of welding slag and many possible interference factors, which puts high demands on the anti-interference performance of RFID equipment.

(2) At the welding robot station in the body welding workshop, the RFID equipment is required to have high resistance to welding operations, ensure the accuracy of vehicle production information, and not cause any impact on the work of the welding robot.

(3) In the WBS area of the body welding workshop, the RFID equipment can accurately obtain relevant information about the vehicle.

Logistics industry

In the logistics industry, the long-distance operation and simultaneous operation of multiple tags of RFID equipment are highly valued, and RFID equipment is required to meet the large data throughput requirements under long distances.

Steel industry

The steel industry has a relatively complex environment, and the excellent anti-interference performance of RFID equipment in harsh environments is particularly important.

Parts industry

The parts industry also has clear requirements for workpiece production information. In particular, RFID equipment is required to provide accurate operation results in narrow installation conditions.

Field working environment

When used in field environments, there are very prominent requirements for the durability and reliability of RFID equipment.

Specific environment

UHF ultra-high frequency RFID equipment can provide relatively long-distance (1-3 m) production information data operation in certain specific less complex environments.

RFID technology advantages

RFID chips and RFID readers are highly resistant to substances such as water, oil and chemicals. The reading of information is not limited by the size and shape of the chip, and there is no need to match the fixed size and printing quality of the paper for reading accuracy. Moreover, RFID tags are developing towards miniaturization and diverse forms to be applied to different products.

RFID technology recognition is more accurate than traditional smart chips, and the recognition distance is more flexible. It can achieve penetration and barrier-free reading.

RFID chip tags can repeatedly add, modify and delete internally stored data to facilitate information updates.

The internal data content is protected by a password, making it difficult to forge and alter the content.

RFID chip data capacity is large, and with the development of technology, the capacity is also increasing.
